I grew up in the very small farming communities of Kirk & Idalia in Eastern Colorado. My parents, Glen & Bev, live and work on our family farm/ranch. My brother lives and works in Wray, Colorado, and my sister lives and works in Yuma, Colorado.
My ministry:
I am the 'right hand gal' for Alan Kraft, Stacey Campbell, Aaron Wooten, Dave Czapenski, Chris Liepe, Phil Grizzle, and Mark Hagen. Basically, I multi-task all day, every day--and I love it! I'm your girl if you have general questions about Christ Community or if you have specific questions about our different prayer ministries, the weekly Information Packet, Baptism, Worship Arts, Zoe's, or any seminars/conferences that Christ Community hosts.
Few people know:
From the time I was 12 until I was 18 (how embarrassing!), I was convinced that I was going to marry Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman. The fact that he was 14 years older than me did little to deter my dream. However, I never made it to Texas, so I'm afraid another girl beat me to it. Bummer!
Favorite food:
I LOVE food, so it's hard to pick just one favorite. My top three meals would have to be Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and lots of white gravy, Sesame/Orange Chicken, and Italian Nachos. Hmmm...can we say cholesterol?
I Enjoy...
...traveling to Africa (Kenya & Uganda), running half marathons with friends, cooking for a crowd, dancing my little heart out, and being "Miss Jamie" to and loving on all the staff and church kids.
Favorite verse:
Isaiah 55:8-9: "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" I like these two verses because they serve as a constant reminder to me that I am not in control. I struggle with that concept quite often. I find it reassuring to know that God has a very specific and perfect plan for my life, and what He has planned is far greater than anything I can come up with on my own.
