The Current exists to empower parents of Middle School students, in their journey to lead authentic, Christ-absorbed, compassionate families.

We believe that a face-to-face encounter with Jesus brings forth a gigantic passion. It is that very passion that The Current seeks to capitalize on, hone, and invigorate. We believe that this passion will define our purpose, refine our talents, and define our needs. No one is more passionate then a middle school student, and when that passion is introduced to Jesus, the world begins to change.
Every Wednesday starting right after school, The Current offers middle school students a great place to hang out, food, and worship service which is geared toward their passions. With Biblical teaching, authentic worship, and purposeful small groups, The Current strives to embody an environment in which a middle school student will thrive.
So what does a typical Wedneday look like? Check it out:
3:30-5:15 The youth room is be open after school and staffed with our amazing leaders to engage our students in dialog about what is going on with their lives. Students will also have the opportunity to do their homework and meet with their friends. This time is purely optional, but a great thing to take advantage of right after school.
5:15-5:45 There is a dinner option offered to our students each Wednesday night for the cost of $2.00. This gives our students the opportunity to eat and get to know one another as well as takes the pressure off of our parents of trying to plan a Wednesday night meal before youth group.
5:45-7:30 The worship service begins and engages our students in impactful Biblical teaching, authentic worship and fellowship in small groups. We are excited to move from a question and answer formatted small group to a mentoring/relational small group. The extra time given to us on Wednesday nights allows us to do this!
7:30-8:00 The Current ends at 7:30 and our students are free to go! They are also free to hang around and mingle until 8:00 as we will offer different fruity drinks and snacks after our worship service.
