Blessed are those … who delight in the law of the LORD, and meditate on his law day and night. They are like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
Psalm 1:1-3
In the Bible, Psalm 1 describes a person who delights in God, meditating on His Word day and night. They are compared to a tree that’s planted by life-giving streams of water, giving it the nourishment it needs to flourish and to produce fruit in season. Being planted by this water source enables the tree to withstand withering and decay, to send its roots deep into the earth, and to prosper.
Roots classes are designed to help you be nourished by God’s Word, the Bible, and develop strong spiritual roots in your relationship with God. Each class is created to give you the tools to encounter Jesus in the Scriptures by learning how to study the Bible for yourself, to lead others in studying it, and to engage with it devotionally. In addition, classes on the Old and New Testaments and specific Bible books are presented to help you grasp the chronology, themes, people, and life-changing truths of Scripture.
Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we believe each Roots class will have something just for you! Here are the upcoming Roots classes for 2009-2010 and dates they will be taught.
Please Note: All classes will meet on Sunday mornings in Room 50 at the 15th Street Campus. Times Differ with each class.
