As a church we believe that some local and global situations cannot be ignored and they cannot be fully addressed within the time frame of a short-term mission trip. Project Beyond Catalyst is Christ Community’s response to some of these pressing needs.
A three-year, $3 million project (above our general church budget), Catalyst is all about having a greater impact for Christ through partnerships—partnerships with vibrant churches and leaders who are living out the gospel, extending the kingdom through fearless church planting and compassionate ministry movements.
Partnering together, we are tackling issues of female circumcision and forced marriages in rural KENYA; addressing issues surrounding the AIDS-devastated communities of Western UGANDA; helping plant churches in a predominantly Islamic country in the MIDDLE EAST; and providing resources that bring hope and healing to the country of PERU as they move to send out missionaries in surrounding countries. In addition, Project Beyond Catalyst expands the ministry of the church by living out the gospel in local settings and MULTI-SITE worship gatherings, and by breaking social and racial barriers in our own community through MULTI-ETHNIC church planting endeavors.
Not only is Project Beyond Catalyst a way for Christ Community to financially invest in the fight for compassion and justice, it is also a way for those attending the church and in the local community to become personally involved in reconciling hurting people to Christ.
