It takes a lot of “behind-the-scenes” volunteers to make our weekend services successful, both at the 15th Street campus and downtown at Zoe's. There are many avenues for you to plug in according to your gifts, talents, passions, and interests. If you have experience… GREAT! If not…no problem – we’ll train you! Read on, and see which areas spark your interest…
Audio
Do you love music but can’t play music? Or maybe you’re a musician who also loves turning knobs, pushing faders, making recordings and otherwise tweaking things out. When you volunteer for “audio” you can expect to set up and ready the stage for worship services, be trained on our Yamaha M7 to run sound for weekly services as well as other events and help the worship teams achieve the most professional, polished sound possible. It’s quite rewarding!
Lighting
Proper lighting is essential for providing a focused and distraction free worship environment. As a lighting volunteer, you have the opportunity to help draw people in to worship, focus people’s attention on the sermon, and create environments suitable for communion and prayer. There is also opportunity to help with creative lighting ideas in our set designs.
Projectionist
Okay… so you’re singing a new song in church and you don’t know the words. Where do you look? Or, you’re following along with the sermon and you see a visual aid that really drives the point home for you. When you volunteer as a projectionist, you help make these things possible. You’ll get to prepare and run the slide presentation during worship as well as work with the speaker to get visual aids up on the big screens.
Video Switcher
This position works very closely with the Projectionist to ensure that the right content is in the screens at all times. As a Video Switcher you will cue up and play video clips used in messages, control when the camera “goes live” and put content from the Projectionist station on the screens when needed.
Video Production
If you want to be a part of telling the many stories of what God is doing in and through our church, this area is for you. If you don’t know how to already, you’ll learn how to shoot and edit video, and take an idea or testimony and turn it into a memorable short story that will have an amazing impact on your brothers and sisters in Christ. You’ll also be involved with creative short spots for announcements, and youth content.
Ready to get plugged in or have more questions? Contact either Chris Liepe, Director of Media, or Dave Czapenski, Director of Technology. Actually these guys are the go-to's if you have any interest in getting involved in doing anything anywhere in the area of computers, technology or the web.
ALPHA TECHNICAL TEAM:
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. The Alpha course includes ten meals and an amazing one-day or weekend getaway at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. At Christ Community, Alpha meets three times each year, once per week. We are looking for men and women who will serve as sound and audio-visual technicians for each week's DVD teaching and the worship team as they lead participants in worship.
