What happens when our desire for security turns into a desire for control? In 1 Samuel 12, Israel has the king they asked for—and Samuel reminds them that they already had a King who had been faithful all along. Through every season, God had provided, protected, rescued, and remained with His people. The challenge wasn’t God’s faithfulness; it was their tendency to forget. In this message, we’re invited to remember who God is and what He has done, return when fear and control pull us away, and trust that He remains on the throne. When we remember God’s character and faithfulness, we can loosen our grip on the things we were never meant to control and find peace in the One who holds it all. God is King—and we are not. And that is incredibly good news.
